Simon Perathoner
Simon Perathoner is an artist, photographer and designer from Val Gardena. His artistic research is based on the methodological exploration between art and science. In particular, it is aimed at the study of metalanguages, meta-images and metadata, in collision and/or interrelation with each other, working on the trinomial encoding/decoding/re-encoding, error/perfection/interference, analogue/digital/symbiosis, data/memory/consequence... emphasising and analysing the methods of presentation. After attending the Art School in Ortisei and the Academy in Venice, he studied photography in Professor Gabriele Rothemann’s class at the Angewandte in Vienna. He participated in numerous group expositions at the Trienala Ladina in the Museum Ladin (2016) or the Biennale Gherdëina (2018). His CV also includes many solo exhibitions, including the Glitch and data exhibition in the Circolo Artistico e Culturale in Ortisei (2019) or the Black Box exhibition in the 00A gallery in Merano (2018). Additionally, Simon was President of the Artistic and Cultural Circle of Ortisei in 2015 and 2016.
