Stefan Demetz Sulé

Stefan Demetz-Sulé was a Ladin composer, writer and teacher. He was president and director of the Selva choir for 36 years. He served as organist in Selva for about 60 years. He was one of the founders of Jëuni de mujiga de Gherdëina, in his role as Director of the Gemeinschaft für Jugendmusikerziehung and the Institut für Musikerziehung. He was also director of the Laion choir. He was called to the board of the Südtiroler Sängerbund where he was Bundeschorleiter for 12 years. During this period, he was responsible for collecting together and printing the Cianties per Gherdëina. He wrote several musical compositions, including Serenata (1949), Do n tëmp (1950), Hymnus a Gherdëina (1960), L bel mei (1965) and Nëus jon pa bel plan (1984).
