Alexander Girardi

Alexander Girardi was born in Graz. His father came from Ampezzo. Thanks to his beautiful voice and excellent singing talent, he gave up his profession as a blacksmith and started singing in operettas. Girardi sang in Viennese operettas and Austrian folk comedies. He was very skilled, danced eccentrically, and knew how to interpret the emotions of the characters he played. Over the years, he became so famous in Austria that even Emperor Franz Josef wanted to meet him personally. Girardi died in Vienna.
