Valentino Rovisi was a painter who, as a young man, was sent to the workshop of a master painter in Venice to learn the craft. After returning home for a few years, he was admitted to the workshop of the great painter Giambattista Tiepolo. The fact that he was given the opportunity to work on some very important paintings over a long period of time suggests that he was valued and enjoyed the master’s trust. His talent and skills were also recognized in his homeland, where he painted in several villages and churches in the region. Rovisi painted a large fresco in the church of Cavedine, which he was unable to complete due to health reasons.
