Martin Vinazer was a Gröden sculptor from the famous Vinazer family of artists. This artistic dynasty, after the Trebinger family, laid the foundation for Gröden woodcarving. Together with his brother Dominikus Vinazer (*1666 - †1736), Martin created numerous altars in Bozen and Eisacktal. Significant works by Martin Vinazer are located in the Gröden Museum, the City Museum in Klausen, the Diocesan Museum in Brixen, and the Museum of Ethnology in Vienna. Other works can be found in the Mariaheimweg church in Bozen, as well as in the churches of Kastelruth, Klausen, and St. Peter.
