Tita Pederiva
Giovanni Battista Pederiva, also known as Tita Pederiva, was a sculptor of great talent. After studying at the art school of Wolkenstein, he devoted himself to woodcarving. Initially, he worked in the church, but then he began to create figurative sculptures of the local population. Pederiva gave his sculptures a lively expression, often hiding a secret, and thus managed to represent the richness of human values of his homeland. Through his sensitivity and modesty, but certainly also through the careful observation of people, he succeeded in giving his sculptures personal features and a unique character. His talent was also recognized abroad, where he had the opportunity to present his sculptures in a series of solo and group exhibitions, without ever feeling the pressure to take care of the sale of his works.
