Jusepe Ghedina Tomasc was a painter from Ampezzo who learned his craft in Venice, where his talent was recognized with several awards. His frescoes decorate numerous churches in the surrounding area of Ampezzo, as well as in the provinces of Vicenza, Pordenone, Udine, and Venice. In 1896, he became a member of the Academy of Venice and a Knight of the Crown of Italy. Along with his brothers, he painted the Ciasa dei Pupe in Ampezzo, a magnificent painting that testifies to his love for the Ampezzan Ladin people and their culture.
