Cyprian Pescosta
After high school, Cyprian Pescosta attended the seminary in Brixen, where he became a priest. This vocation led him to Val Badia, Val Gardena, Livinallongo, Ampezzo and other areas of South Tyrol. He died in Casteldarne in 1889. In 1846, Pescosta founded and directed the Institute of Art in Cortina d’Ampezzo. In addition to his work as a poet and writer, he was a keen and gifted painter.
